Christiane Previlma

Licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
About Me

Christiane Previlma, PMHNP-BC, APRN, RBT

My path into mental health care has been shaped by both professional training and personal experience. I am a wife and a mother of three, and like many of the adults I work with, I know what it feels like to juggle responsibilities, care for others, and still feel pressure to “keep it all together”, often at the expense of your own well-being.

I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of experience and a background in psychology. This allows me to understand mental health from multiple angles: the biological, psychological, and social factors that influence emotional well-being. I provide comprehensive care that may include medication management when appropriate, alongside guidance, coping strategies, and support tailored to your life. My goal is to make sure you have the tools and care you need, whether that’s a structured treatment plan, practical strategies, or medication support.

I am especially drawn to working with adults who feel overwhelmed, emotionally depleted, or unseen, particularly caregivers and those supporting loved ones with chronic illness or dementia. Many of my patients are the “strong ones,” the helpers, the ones everyone depends on, yet they rarely have space to process their own needs. I relate to this personally and professionally, and I understand the importance of creating a space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered.

You are not failing. You are not weak. You are responding to real pressures with limited support. Healing begins when your experiences are understood and your care is tailored to you as a whole person. It is a privilege to walk alongside you, combining expert psychiatric care, practical guidance, and medication support if needed, to help you regain balance, clarity, and emotional well-being.

Who I’m Best Suited to Help

I work best with adults who are ready to take an active role in their mental health and want care that goes beyond quick fixes. My ideal patients are those who:

  • Are experiencing anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm, or chronic stress

  • Are caregivers supporting loved ones with chronic illness, dementia, or age-related cognitive changes

  • Feel “stuck” despite trying medications, therapy, or lifestyle changes on their own

  • Want a provider who takes the time to understand their story, patterns, and life context

  • Are looking for a collaborative, integrative approach that combines medication, therapy, and practical strategies for daily life

  • Value support for both themselves and the systems or relationships they care for

If you are looking for care that addresses the root contributors to your distress, teaches skills to manage stress and emotions, and supports sustainable mental wellness — you will find this approach effective and empowering.

Contact
This practice gave me a safe space to talk openly without feeling judged. The approach felt calm, intentional, and supportive. I appreciated how Christine focused on understanding me as a person, not just a diagnosis. It gave me hope during a time when I really needed it.
